DescriptionAmpwifi turns your Android device into a remote control for the popular Winamp® music player. It allows you to play, pause, fast forward and rewind the current song. You can also view or edit the playlist, browse your media files or search for particular songs or folders.
Ampwifi does NOT play music on your Android device. It is strictly a remote control, the music will play on your Windows PC with Winamp®. However Ampwifi now has a Stream to Device feature which can play songs from your PC on to your Android device. (The Streaming feature is limited to one song at a time and requires that your Android device has a music player capable of playing streamed audio such as Google's Play Music app)
For Ampwifi to work you will need Winamp® for Windows along with the AjaxAMP Remote Control Plugin (download from: www.ajaxamp.com). Instructions are included in the app.
✦ Totally free, no annoying ads and minimal permissions.
✦ Clean and quick interface.
✦ All basic music playing features: Play, Pause, Stop, Fast forward, Rewind, Next, Previous, Shuffle, Repeat, Mute and full volume control.
✦ Browse and edit Playlist (unable to save playlists).
✦ Browse your music library and add entire folders to your playlist. NOTE: The AjaxAMP plugin uses it’s own folder based media library system for quick search capabilities, including wild card searches. The Winamp® media library is NOT directly supported by Ampwifi.
✦ Works over WiFi and mobile/cellular data networks.
✦ Can automatically detect your Windows PC running Winamp® on your LAN (but may require manual setup).
✦ Comes with a complete help document to help you setup all components to get up and running in minutes.
✦ NEW: Stream to device. Songs in your Winamp playlist or AjaxAMP's library can now be streamed to your device. Limited to one song at a time and requires a music player app capable of playing streamed audio, such as Google's Play Music.

!!!Known Issue in Ampwifi v2.0.2:
If you edit your active server profile, the edits may appear to not take effect in the app. This may result in failed connections. There are two work arounds for this: After the edits are saved: 1) Exit Ampwifi using the back button and re-launch Ampwifi, or 2) Make a different server profile active and then re-active the edited server profile. This has been fixed in v2.0.3 so please upgrade.
App has been thoroughly tested on the following:
▪ Google Nexus S (4.1)
▪ HTC One X+ (4.1)
▪ ASUS Transformer Prime (4.1)
▪ Samsung Galaxy Captivate (2.2)
