Description
Sight Word Flash Cards is a simple word list practice program. It comes with a sample set of words, the Katy ISD Kindergarten and First Grade Sight Words. The word list is completely customizable. (Note, if you don't want to use the Katy ISD words, you can either unselect them or delete them altogether from the Manage Lists menu.)A good use of this app is to let your child review their vocabulary words from school. When they are ready they can use Test mode to go through all the words once.
The word list can be cleared and new words may be imported from the SD card. Imports should be in the format of a comma separated file (CSV) such as might be exported from Excel or OpenOffice.
For example, this would create (or expand in the case of existing lists) three lists:
My Spanish List, My Italian List, My Dutch list
hola, ciao, hallo
adiós, arrivederci, vaarwel
After installing an optional Text To Speech library the application will also attempt to speak the word when tapped. Go into the options to enable TTS. If you do not have the TTS libraries the Android Market will prompt you to install them.

Simplicity at it's best! When I decided to search for a sight word app i had no idea i would find exactly what i was looking for. This app is perfect for my purpose. I am teaching my five year old to read because he has been discouraged by not getting to start kindergarten with his friends due to his September birthday. The kindergartners study sight words in addition to their phonics building so i decided we should study sight words as well. I love this app! I love how simple it is to switch the lists and build upon week after week. when a friend asked about good sight word resources this afternoon i immediately directed her to this wonderful app. Thank you!

Love this app Very simple app to use and works great. I like that you can customize the words using an excel csv file. I would add an FAQ.

Works great The voice is a little robotic, but overall the app is very easy to use and works well.

Wish List Would like to see the app reconize other characters like Korean so someone studing korean can use it.

love/hate Voice is terrible.Is there another that can be selected? Love that lists in other languages can B made, but hate that it has 2 B done outside app .

Exceptional Very well done and worked perfectly for our word lists! I'd love to see the code since I thought about writing something like this myself :)

If sound doesn't work, try enabling "tts" service.
