My first app - load songs from a remote database.

Hi all, I am building my first app which is a personal music app for myself.
I have tracks stored on a remote database.
I have built the app interface but now I want to make it pull the tracks from the database when I press start and load them as a playlist into the interface with media control buttons for skipping through the track and the ability to move onto the next track when you touch it on the screen.

Is there a simple way to do this? (probably not!) Or does anyone know of any tutorials that will help me make this?
