Hi all,
I am pretty bad at this being a newish smartphone user. I have just realised that i cannot download certain apps as my Android version is not at least 4.4. I used the "check for new software" on the phone and installed updates, but my phone is still showing its version as 4.2.2. What am I doing wrong ?

If you are sure that you have not rooted your device, I think you may try a factory reset, and then use "check for new software" to upgrade your Android to the latest version. Good luck to you.

software updtaes are mannually kept in settings ,u can use that manually and upgraded to new android version
