[UPDATE] Nexus 5 spotted in teaser video for Android 4.4 KitKat?

Sterling Keys

You know those people who are able to spot small little plot holes or continuity error during movies? A few very observant redditors just did the same thing with the Android 4.4 KitKat unveiling video and have found something really interesting.

The gentlement on the left is sporting a Nexus device that we haven't seen before.  / © Google

Much like a game of Where’s Waldo (…or Where’s Wally if you’re outside North America), these redditors managed to find a Google employee in the background of the action taking a picture or video of the event on a brand new Nexus device.

Unlike the Nexus 4, which is being held up by the woman on the right and has the “NEXUS” wording in a portrait orientation, the new Nexus device has the “NEXUS” wording in a landscape orientation that is similar to the new Nexus 7s. Furthermore, it seems like the device the man is holding also has the camera placed more towards the corner than the Nexus 4 in the picture.

In higher res versions of the still, you can also make out the LG logo on the device. Could this mean that Google and LG will be working towards a new Nexus device? Will it be based off the newly released G2? Only time will tell.

Either way, this is either a very clever leak by Google or just a slip-up that was caught by some very observant viewers.

We're uploading the video right now and will update this post when it is ready.

....and here's the video! The screenshot is taken at about 38 seconds in, so check it out for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
