Description
GedStar Pro (free trial) works with a genealogy program on your PC to show all the details of your family history. Converts directly from "The Master Genealogist" and "Legacy Family Tree", or from a GEDCOM file. Displays all your data including events, notes, sources, repositories, and photos. Some product-specific features are also available, such as the research log or to-do list.There are four basic views: Personal Details; Family Group; Ancestor Tree; and Descendant Tree. There are several ways to navigate up and down a line of descent, and to search for specific people. An extensive menu of other features is available, such as for viewing your complete family photo gallery.
This app requires the separate purchase of a Windows conversion program, which is available with a free trial period from our website. A sample database is included with the Android app so you can explore the user interface without having to convert your own data.
The database is stored on your external (or internal) SD card and there are no limits on the number of people or amount of other data. It has been tested on a database of over 40,000 individuals.

Very happy with purchase After installing, converting my project and moving it to my tablet I'm very happy with it so I bought the full version of the Windows software straight away. It's now only $9.95, or $9.79 in Australian dollars.

Waste of time The splash screen keeps coming up. The free version is cripple ware and the description talks about what you get in the paid version

Wonderful companion for my TMG I can use it to view my whole TMG file which is over 62,000 people. Great read only quick reference tool while doing onsite research. I don't have to lug my laptop everywhere. It even shows all your linked photos. I also use it as a quick pocket tool when I run into a cousin and while out to eat with a cousin. I highly recommend this app!

A Must-Have Geneoligist Tool! Great app. Free on Android, pay for desktop converter; good model, great value. Excellent support. Very nice UI, more enhancements all the time.

Good viewer The viewing interface is nice. But needing to convert from a GEDCOM to GedStar format is an extra step. Also would be nice to have more than just viewing capabilities.

Does what it says it will do. Minor glitch but nothing that most would notice. Very useful when away from my main computer.

Superb viewer for any (converted) GEDCOM file. No need for editing & input facilities - better on a laptop. PC conversion pgm is cheap and works well.

Doesn't open raw gedcom The description implies it can open gedcom files... but that's only true if you buy their application to convert them first

Can not create, add, or edit on mobile device. Very annoying. What's the point. Please fix.
