Description
Notational Acceleration is an ultra-efficient Simplenote-syncing cloud-backed tablet-capable note-taking powerhouse. It does nothing but make sure you have the notes you need, when you need them.NA is a spiritual derivative of Notational Velocity on the Mac or ResophNotes for Windows and, when you enable Simplenote syncing, it syncs with both. Its point is to put as little as possible in between you and your notes. There is no saving, the notes just automagically get synced to the cloud, so they are always current. There is tablet support for both 7" Galaxy Tabs or Nook Colors and Honeycomb workhorses.

I like it Solid, reliable. Replaced springpad for me after its latest update. One wish I have is for titles to be integrated with the text body as they are on the native desktop app so that they are viable.

Great, but could be improved I use nvALT on my computer and was thrilled to see an android version of the NV project. In landscape mode with a Bluetooth keyboard, this app is fantastic. However, I do not like the layout in portrait mode (not a lot of space for typing because of the big list of notes at the top - I wish the size of this could be adjusted). Also, I was disappointed to find that the note tagging implemented in nvALT was not supported.

Solid--phone + tablet Very well done, and nearly as full-featured as the Mac app; would be nice if the developer added a few more features, as possible, from it. It's annoying to not have the tab key available, and there should be an option for a tab to be equivalent to a certain number of spaces.

Paid, but ads are back! This is a very nice application, completely true to the spirit of the Mac NV app. Along with Swiftkey X, and setting up a Simple Note sync, it's my goto global note taking application. I liked it so much I did an in-app purchase to remove ads (IIRC). After upgrading my phone to CM7 I had to reinstall this app, and it doesn't seem to remember that I paid to have the ads removed! Also, the author's website link is broken, and the android market place reports an error. At 2$ I will just buy it again.

Not bad! I use notational velocity on the Mac and was looking for something similar for my tablet. This comes closest. No support for labels sadly. Annoying sync error notification when offline. Developer appears not to be updating app which is worrisome for paid users. Some users complaining about but sync problems but I've not seen one in my months of use.

Perfect note-taking app Simple, straightforward way to create and edit text notes -- no other Android app I've tried works this well; even iPhone users are jealous when they see it. I still use EverNote for photo notes (Notational Acceleration is text only, and should stay that way) but use this for everything else. I also use Notational Velocity (actually, nvALT) as my main note-taking app on OS X, and it's great to have something so similar on the phone, where speed matters even more. Simplenote sync between the two is good to have, too.

Doesn't sync correctly Works in the same way as Notational Velocity, which is very good. But doesn't sync correctly with Simplenote.

Unreliable syncing I used to use this app, but then I started getting sync errors. My notes were sometimes replaced with older versions, or refused to sync. My notes are very important to me, and reliable syncing is the first thing that I need. Other than that, I really like this app. I used it on my phone (Atrix 4G) and tablet (Asus Transformer) and the interface was nice. Unfortunately none of that matters anymore. Another reviewer using an Atrix had reliable syncing, which leads me to believe that there may be some hope left in this app, but I simply cannot let my data be erased, or replaced with an older version, or combined with other versions. I'm finding a new app. I cannot recommend this with the knowledge that it may destroy one's notes.
