LEGENDiary is a project that allows sharing and exploring the legends and stories of each city from a dynamic and collaborative way. It can be accessed from its website http://legendiary.sigte.org (also available in its mobile version) or from this app. The LEGENDiary app maintains the same functionalities than the website but it also allows an offline access to the contents and base maps, so if you visit Spain or Andorra you will be able to discover the legends that you will find on your way without requiring an internet connection.
MAIN FUNTIONALITIES
- Locate and create a legend
- Consult legends by:
+Its location through the map navigation, a place name or through the user location function
+Its popularity through users votes
+Its number of visits
+Its date, allowing to identify the last legends added.
- Create your legends, modify or delete them
- Asses the legends.
- Download maps from the places that contain legends and navigate offline
At this moment LEGENDiary allows you to consult and create legends from Spain and Andorra. It is available in Spanish and Catalan language. The project is alive so we keep on working to add new functionalities and improvements.
HOW WAS DEVELOPED
LEGENDiary uses data and cartography from OpenStreetMap (http://www.openstreetmap.org) (c) OpenStreetMap (and) contributors, CC-BY-SA (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/).
OpenStreetMap tiles are generated from MapQuest in the online version and from SIGTE in the offline version.
Technologically it was developed with opensource components like PhoneGap, jQuery and Leaflet.
