N1 battery temperature range?

Does anyone know the safe operating temperature of the stock Lithium Ion battery in an N1? Mine hit 111° today when in the car dock with BT. and GPS operating. Car A/C was on. Day was cloudy. Does anyone know what's causing this?

I'm assuming you were charging the phone the whole time? Did the phone ever stop responding, and did you look through the manual for a number? Additionally, how long have you had the phone?
