Hi, I have been have been having problems with Google on my Galaxy Tab A for some time now.
Tab A has all the latest updates.
Desktop “Contacts” icon is empty. Keep getting “Updating Contacts” message when opening but nothing happens. I can compose emails though and the addresses then are showing.
Also, when opening Google Play Store, Error message:”DF-DFERH-01” and to “retry” but nothing happens.
I have cleared the Cache and Data. Also have tried to uninstall the Google play updates but the 3 dots on the upper right corner are missing in order to uninstall the updates.
The other problem is when opening Google, the message: “Update to use Discover” comes up but tapping the Update, the message”DF-DFERH-01” comes up again and “Retry”...again...nothing.
In desperation I have uninstalled Google and restored it but the same problem still exists.

Problems: Contacts in Icon- Google Play-and Update Discover when opening Google.

So frustrating!!!!
I hope that I was able to explain my problem with Google correctly.
Thank you in advance for anybody with any suggestions.!

You might just have to do a factory reset(wiping data) as well as clearing cache partition if clearing the cache and data of Google Play doesn't work and you couldn't uninstall the Google Play updates.

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.

The DF-DFERH-01 issue typically appears when upgrading or downloading an Android app from the Google Play store.

Thank you, Sandra for the best solution. But....I am unable to delete the Google Play updates because the 3 little dots on the upper right that are supposed to give me the "delete update" option, are not there.
I was hoping to find a way to just reset Google play because I think that this seems to be the problem. I really, really don't want to factory reset the whole Tablet OS. Maybe there is no other choice? What do you think?
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write and your help.
