Samsung Nexus 10 Tablet Won't Arrive Until “First Half Of 2013”

Bummer! If you’re like me and have been waiting for Google and Sammy to hurry up and drop a Samsung Nexus 10 tablet before Christmas, it looks as if we will be waiting a bit longer than originally hoped. According to CNET reporter Brooke Crothers (the guy who originally reported that Samsung was building the Nexus 10)  the tablet won’t arrive until the first half of 2013. Google IO 2013 I suppose?

No one is quite sure what the holdup is, but some speculate that Samsung’s next generation Exynos 5 Cortex A15 processor could be causing some delays. The Nexus 10 is also rumored to include a next generation 2560 x 1600 display, which could also be causing production or volume issues. But as we've heard nothing else about a release date for the Samsung Nexus 10 tablet, we can naturally confirm nothing.

I honestly don’t mind waiting longer for a Nexus 10 tablet, ESPECIALLY if Sammy is building the internals. If this tablet will really rock the new Exynos 5 chip, 2GB or RAM, and a super high resolution display, I hope they take their time and get it right. Besides, I’m still way too happy with my Wookie powered Transformer Prime to consider getting rid of it anytime soon.

What about you guys? Is this the tablet that you're holding out for, or is there another tablet out there that's caught your eye?

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

@Eric Same here. Although if Samsung does come out with the Nexus 10 then I will very sadly replace my Wookied Prime. I am sure as hell gonna miss the keyboard, its extra battery, usb port and sd card slot.

If the screen is square like that I'm NOT buying it. That looks like an iPad. No thanks.

@Patrick - You're Wookified as well? Hit me up in the thread sometime! Dai323 is my XDA name.

And yeah...that's made the Prime so awesome; no adapters needed! I even use the micro hdmi often as well. I would really really miss mine :(

@Tyler - Same here! But I'm pretty sure its just a stretched Nexus :)

I got to play with the Note 10 and was seriously impressed. If I could get a Nexus 10 and port over some of the Note's features I would have a beast of a tablet.

I may be tempted to trade in my Xoom for this but I would hope that it has an SD slot, and not losing the HDMI port would really sell me.

I don't mind waiting, especially if they get it really right. I'm not really on the upgrade hamster wheel.

So... I've been expecting some news about this release. And since I'm not willing to wait 2013 I'm going to buy my Galaxy Note 10.1 now.

I got fed up with waiting but was not willing to pay for the Prime so I plumped for the Transformer TF300, and Im very happy with it, its actually replaced my laptop.

I am waiting since my Nexus one for a Nexus tablet! Not an Android tablet, a Nexus tablet. Not a 7" toy, but a real 10.

I hope this tablet doesn't have to compete with the iPad 4 next year. I own an iPad 3 and i wish all the other tablets GOOD LUCK. SIri on iPad is killer and i won't bore you with the app difference again.

The timing of this tablet is poor because it will be competeing with windows 8 tablets and the next generation iPad, WHY????

    @ljhaye
Siri would be a killer if it was a completely original idea but its not. android had had voice recodnition apps like siri for at least two years now. Apple takes things that its compeditors have already done and been successful at and says they were the ones who came up with it. Even if siri was good the apple maps is horrible.

@Ijhaye It may have been until recently that the iPad has dominated the tablet market. However, I expect things to change as Samsung, Asus and Google itself takes the fight to the tablet segment. Android OEMs and Samsung in particular were just churning out tablets to keep their presence in that segment while they focused their attention and development to beating the iPhone - and some might argue that they already won. And think about it, a good portion of the 30Million or so new owners of the S3 and Note plus the coming Note 2 (we could see maybe 40 Mil new owners of Sammy Phones by year end) would like to pair their new shiny devices with a tablet, you really think its gonna be the iPad they'll choose? The announcement of any major tablet launch in the next few months is great timing in my opinion - perfect timing would be a December 2012 release. I think the next generation of Samsung and Asus tablets will give the iPad a run for its money.

Desperately seeking tablet 10; my Xoom FE bootlooped on me Tuesday two weeks ago. It performed a WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST on the 2gb microSD I was trying to use as for the recovery rom.

So I've been shopping. like Note 10 2014, and Current Nexus 10. I was hoping for pre Black Friday availability for the 2014 and nexus 10 2.
